Stacey Korn started her design career by impersonating a copywriter and getting herself a job at Paper Moon Graphics while she was still in design school. Hundreds of greeting cards later, she migrated her talents to Creative Intelligence Inc. where she designed invitations and event collateral for celebrities, movie studios and non-profits in Los Angeles, CA. In 1996 she moved to Martha's Vineyard with her husband and started her own company, Media Island Group. Her event design talents opened the door to some hefty corporate design clients of her own. Reuters Media gave her her big break in web design when she designed reutersmedia.com and later redesigned reuters.com in 2002. After a brief flirtation with owning her own popular and whimsical retail store, she moved to Portland, Oregon where she now lives (and designs) with her husband and two children.
Whether it's for the web, iPad, or mobile phone, Interactive design is constantly evolving. We're not intimidated, we're excited. Our clients can relax, we know putting together your new website can seem overwhelming, but we specialize in organizing information. Hand holding is our specialty. Full-service.
No hassles.
Hello Martha's Vineyard and later, Hello Portland was Stacey's premier gift retail store for nearly five years. Lucky for you she returned to her true love, graphic design, in 2008.
Although it seems like the twilight zone now, Stacey worked almost exclusively for Reuters for three years as a designer, web developer and information architect. After two years of fabricating fund calculators she almost forgot how to write an inappropriate greeting card!
Edge is one of our favorite marketing pieces. It uses tactile
elements to convey our client's easy going spirit while reaching out
to their like minded demographic. Edge is
a good example of our ability to
edit and catalogue information that might have otherwise seemed
overwhelming.
Breathe Pilates is a boutique, private pilates studio so we used illustrations to protect the identity of her high-profile clients. This site is a Wordpress site so the client can make changes herself. It includes a blog to enhance our client's offerings and expand her web presence.
Prior to designing Reuters.com Stacey got her feet wet designing the Reuters Media site. The task at hand was to use Reuter's existing brand guidelines and create something new and exciting.
Terrace Tower Group U.S.A hired us to create a custom Content Management System (CMS) that they could use to easily add and edit property listings.
The result was a back-end dashboard that is as beautiful and well-organized as the website itself!
This online retailer will soon be selling Oregon wines in Japan. The site will be able to flip between English and Japanese and will include Wordpress functionality for news about Oregon Wines and a custom shopping cart.
Picture this Bouquets is ready to launch, we're just waiting for the client to flip the switch. This is another wordpress site, but with a twist; it incorporates an Ecwid shopping cart and an upload function so customers can upload their photos.
This client wanted something exactly like a magazine spread and that's exactly what they got!
(This online silk bouquet store is currently under construction.)
www.farlawfirm.com is a Portland law firm that focuses on real estate matters so our inspiration was a panoramic picture Stacey took from the top of the OHSU tram. We carried the Portland panoramic theme on the bottom of every page using photos of Oregon we took ourselves!
Angeli Law Group needed a wordpress site they could change on the fly. Sure we're proud of the clean lines and "boutique" design but we really had to pat ourselves on the back for creating it in about a month's time! www.angelilaw.com
Our second Japanese / English site never made it to launch (sad face) but we think it included some of our best ideas, including packaging and logo design.
One of earlier e-commerce sites is pretty simple and uses PayPal for checkout. The flip side is that we designed this site in about a week before the client's holiday rush.
Clean and organized. Stacey designed quite a few internal websites for the Reuters Media salesforce.
